2018 Butch's Blend The Gabbro

2018 Butch's Blend The Gabbro
Milbrandt

Butch red blends, hand-selected by Washington State wine pioneer Butch Milbrandt, are blends named after soils created by cataclysmic ice age events (The Gabbro, La Scorie, Lunar Maria, and The Cratonic are all soon to be released!). The journey of these ancient soils during the Missoula Floods led to the unparalleled quality found in the region’s family-owned vineyards today. The Gabbro is an Italian blend inspired by the aromatic, ruby-red harmonies of Sangiovese, Primitivo, and Barbera grapes.

This blend manages to achieve a balance where the varietals stand out and complement each other. A sip of this is an experience of flavor where one gets to start on the vibrant flavor of the Sangiovese which then steps up to the bright peppery Primitivo. To complete this fantastic trip the Barbera takes you home with a rich fruity smooth finish.
